The Spiritual Practice of Connection

Pursuing connection as a spiritual practice helps us to intentionally grow in our relationships, as we are purposeful with our time, prioritizing time with others that moves beyond surface level conversations.

As people who were made in the image of a relational God, we are all longing for connection with God and with others. Pursuing connection as a spiritual practice helps us to intentionally grow in our relationships, as we are purposeful with our time, prioritizing time with others that moves beyond surface level conversations. True connection with others provides the support and care we need to flourish in our lives and to grow in our walk with God, and enables us to provide that same thing for others. Connection is purposeful, takes effort, and is one of the most rewarding and powerful things we can experience and spiritual practices we can participate in.

“No one person can fulfill all your needs. But the community can truly hold you. The community can let you experience the fact that, beyond your anguish, there are human hands that hold you and show you God’s faithful love.” - Henri Nouwen
