A purposeful life of discipleship is built on these three pillars and each one fosters the other two. As we serve, we find we are growing closer to God and connecting with others more. Serving causes us to lay down our ways, our goals, our priorities and discover the purposes He has for us.
Jesus has asked every one of His followers to live a life of service that expresses His character and compassion to the world around us not just in words but by what we do. Service can look like a lot of different things: a simple act of kindness, consistent generosity towards an organization, intentional time invested in others, pitching in with a team to meet a one-time need.
Through carving out regular times to serve you will grow in your God-given passions, the ways you were created to serve the world around you.
